Any good ideas out there for keeping wasps and hornets away?

They keep nesting in our shed and bbq......does not matter how many times we take the nests away they come back ten fold.

Answers:
Don't just take the nest away, kill the wasps. That is why they are returring. If you spray the nest with insecticide they usually will not return to the same spot. Also, if you just want to kill the wasps from long distance use a spray bottle (on stream mode) with water and put 4-5 table spoons of dish soap in it, shake and you have an all purpose insect killer. Spray and soak the insect! Works on wasps, ants, box elder bugs, aphids and more, kills them dead by suffocation. I keep one of these bottles handy in my house incase a wasp gets in. I also spray the nests outside with it. After once or twice killing the wasps and taking down the nest they do not return. It is harmless soap so it is safe. Leaving them alone can get you stung once they take over the area. If you are allergic gettng stung is no fun.

Be careful about what you are spraying (especially on the bbq!) it can stain the siding and other painted items. I gave up last year and called Terminix, for $140 a year they come out as many times as you need (seriously...every week if you need) and take care of hornets, wasps, bees, and other pests. It was so worth the money!!!
When working with removal or spraying it is best to do at night when they are cold and inactive. this is for your own safety, Then if you remove (bag to contain) and destroy the nest at this time you get them all. Spraying the walls etc will deter any other from being attracted. Sometimes it just takes persistence, if there a lot of wasps and hornets in your area.
