How do I get rid of algie and black slime out of my pond? It is approx 12ft by 7ft. No fish?

If you are not planning on putting fish in it, just pour some bleach in the water. After you do that though, you can't ever put fish in it, and you have to make sure little kids don't play in it, and your neighbors' pets don't try to drink out of it.

Chlorine sounds like it works. It also forms inside canteens you drink out of in the army. U.S. Cavalry sells these tablets for that. Halizone, I think. But that's for drinking. For what you want - chlorine sounds about right.
Y! search for applied biochemists. they are a co. that makes pond control stuff. U probably want their cutrine plus (granular) product, which u sprinkle on top of the algea. I think they have other products to bet rid of the slime
Take the water out scrub with bleach and stop putting water in it that should keep the algae and slime down.
If no fish..
1) You could add Clorox and that would kill the slime and algae.. but it would not be good for the birds that might drink from the pool(pond)
2) Adding a basket of chlorine tablets would get rid of the slime and algae but would t take longer and again... not good for the birds that MIGHT be drinking from the pond.
You did not mention if there was a way to drain the pond. I had one that a little smaller than the 12 ft by 7 feet and I siphoned out and bucketed out the water once a month (lots of work), let the sides dry as best I could.. then sprayed a mixture of Clorox and water to kill the algae/slime and then later... filled the pond again. I was concerned about the birds as I wanted them to have a safe place to drink.
Nurseries that sell pond supplies and even some petsmarts have what is called barley straw mats. As it breaks down it helps rid of algae. But it does take about a month to activate. I always started in the early spring and just put a new one in every other month or so. That's the natural way. They also sell chemicals that help with algae though I've never used any of them.
Oh, if you decide to go the slow but natural barley route. just get one of those cheapy $store bottle cleaners and just swirl it around the in the water, that green algae will cling to the bristles. Then you can just sling it off into the trash or compost pile.
If you have no fish try copper sulfate and follow directions, this is what we used in our big pond and worked like a charm
there is your answer... fish eat algea and will take care of the problem for you... add some goldfish or koi
