Does anyone know how to confrontation the Birch Tree Skeletonizer.?
Answers: The only article that you can use to treat the trunk and have it wrapped up into the circulatory system of the tree is having a systemic insecticide "injected" into the trunk or by using a soil drench around the root system. Right immediately it is too late for this and it should own been done around mid July to be powerful. Carbaryl is not a systemic and is a "contact" insecticide. With skeletonizers, this is not the way to walk. They are not on the surface of the leaf but below the first layer of the palm leaf tissue. Now you have to concentrate on eliminate the skeletonizer with a "systemic" foliar insecticide. The best on the open market today is a product by Ortho, and properly called "Systemic Insect Killer" It is available at Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes garden centers. It contains the involved ingredient "Acephate" which is "Orthene" in disguise. If the tree is not too immense for you to treat yourself with a backpack sprayer, mix up a load according to the label. Spray the upper surface of the leaves as powerfully as the undersides if at all possible. This product will engage into the leafs cell structure, and any pest that decides to nurture on the foliage, will become dead meat! This initial application will stay contained by the cell structure for about 3 weeks, giving you remaining protection against insect pests. After this time, you need to do it again, merely for a more lengthy protection and purely in grip you didn't get adjectives of them the first time. Here is a link beside a pic and the product label for you to look at. Hope this answers your request for information.
