Answers:
We always had aloe in partial sunlight not much water maybe the east side of your house..............they always grew easily they are a cactus...more info look up growing catuses...good luck as for the roses they need to be cut back a couple times a month just below the bud or the whole branch will die off I grew them in the warm east side of my house in south floride soif it's to cold they will die anything under 60 degrees cover them or bring in . Plus they need fertilizer to really bloom well

You might be over-watering them.
Might be too late for the aloe plant... by the time they show symptoms the damaged is done.
Questions to ask yourself... do they need to be repotted? are they getting the right kind of sun- direct/indirect? are they watered as they should be and not over or under watered? (different plants require different kinds of sun and/or watering) and the rose may need fertilizer. good luck. :o)
How often and how much are you watering them? You are probably either overwatering or not watering enough. You might try putting them in pots that have a reservoir at the bottom of the pot, so that you fill the pot from the bottom. This will help keep them from getting over-watered.

Most people overwater their plants.
