The leaves were strongly but pleasantly scented. It was a succulent type plant with small fat juicy leaves with fuzz. about 12" tall in the pot. Lots of soft stems that were kind of weak and developed wavy shapes. It tended to sprawl/crawl. Bits would break off it easily. I found some in a back room still alive without visible means of support months later. But when I tried to root them in water or moist soil, they would just rot.
It wasn't portulaca or jade plant.

Hi! This is a stretch but sounds something like what I know as "Cuban Oregano" a succulent, fuzzy leaf, mint relative. Makes a nice houseplant too. The link below gives some discussion. Note that there are a few cultivars (varieties) with different leaf colorings from plain green to more exotic varigations.
I hope this helps.
