What can I do (cheap and effective) about bad crabgrass in my lawn?
Answers:
If you live in a rural area, the best thing to do is to go to a grain elevator or a chemical supplier and ask for empty cans of insecticides like Clorpyriphos, Lambdacyalothryn, Cypermethrin, Deltamethryn, etc.
All this drugs fight insects very well.
Usually empty cans go for recycling, but you can give them a triple wash and collect that water and have a very effective insecticide for you lawn at free cost.
You can do the same about weeds, generic herbicides such as 2,4-D or others kills most of the weeds and are harmless for your grass.

Read the thing I posted in sources. It's a quick overview of what to do and what to use. My husband just bought some stuff at the hardware store (weed and feed type stuff), which worked really well. Also, lime, lime, lime. You can never do it too much, and it's really cheap.
