How should I sea an outdoor juniper bonsai near frozen soil?

Answers: It is significant not to allow the roots to become hard frosted. they are later deprived of water and you could lose your plant. A complicated frost is (lower than -4) either move into the garage or wrap the pot contained by anti frost felt. No potted quad plant likes its compost frozen When its freezes at darkness, and thaws out by lunchtime is OK, but frozen adjectives day and subsequent night is serious. A smaller pot will as expected become icebound quicker than a larger one. Whatever you do don't water it..permit it thaw out fluently

Bonsai's like any other plant specimen will pilfer awhile to get its roots established. You own a couple of options you could do since your ground is frozen. You could bring the Bonsai indoors and put it surrounded by a container for the winter, so the roots will get established surrounded by a warmer environment. You can put it out contained by the spring.
The other thing you can do if you want to hold the Bonsai in the ground very soon is to try and loosen the soil around the base. Add some life mushroom compost and water. If you acquire snow, you can loosen the soil and the moisture from the snow will water your Bonsai. Heavily mulch or pine straw around the plant as this act as a good insultation.
In a situation similar to yours, I would probably opt to bring the Bonsai inside for the winter months and get the roots established for a fit plant.

PLEASE don't do what Kimberly said.....to bring it within the house. It will only end 6 months if you do. It must stay cold ALL winter. If the soil is frozen in the pot, put it within the garage, but don't apply heat. Let it liquefy gently. If the roots froze, the tree may already be limp, but give it a hit and miss.
