When should you prune your butterfly bush surrounded by Ohio? Spring or Fall?
Answers: I live in Michigan and I don't prune until Spring. Often I hold new growth on prehistoric wood and I can determine if I want the plant to go within that particular direction. Be lenient though, I rarely return with new growth on my butterfly bush until severely late Spring. Sometimes I consider it's dead but it other come back.
What ever turns your crank......to be exact you can do it either time. I prefer to keep on until just previously new growth starts (or have started) so I can determine what died off over winter. If we are conversation about the big gelatinous stems down low, whenever you can get to them.
