Is the mandrake plant wicked contained by the USA?
Answers: It's legally recognized. As far as legal high go I would avoid it though, it's poisonous...
Mandrake is uncontrolled contained by the United States. This means adjectives parts of the plant and its extracts are legal to cultivate, buy, possess, and distribute (sell, trade or give) short a license or prescription. If sold as a supplement, sales must conform to U.S. supplement law. If sold for consumption as a food or drug, sales are regulated by the FDA.
Louisiana
Effective Aug 8, 2005 (signed into decree Jun 28, 2005) Louisiana Act No 159 makes 40 plants unofficial, including Mandragora officinarum, when intended for human consumption. The law specifically excludes the "possession, planting, cultivation, growing, or harvesting" of these plants if used "strictly for luxurious, landscaping, or patterned purposes." Tennessee did not pass the proposed bill that would own banned dozens of plants as "hallucinogenic" when intended for human consumption. Instead, they disallowed only Salvia divinorum. See Comments on New State Laws Controlling the Consumption of Hallucinogenic Plants.
Yes it is but if you are buying Mandrake manufacture certain you are getting the right product. Quite habitually the MayApple is what is being sold when you lay down Mandrake. They are closely related but not the same.This is one of the reason that having the Latin designation is important. Mayapple is sold beneath the names American Mayapple and Wild Mandrake and American Mandrake. The latin autograph for Mayapple is podophyllum peltatum. So if you are purchasing make in no doubt that you are getting mandrake and not mayapple.
