How do you root a tree from a branch?
Answers:
take a medium to smallish branch, cut 1/2 way thru it and then, mildly split it about 2 inches on either side of the cut, up and back from the cut (not across) Powder the cut and splits with "root tone" and stuff damp (wet) peat moss into splits. Wrap with Saran Wrap to keep moisture in peat moss. With luck, the limb will send out roots into the Peat Moss "bandage." IN the fall, cut the limb just below the work above and carefully plant in prepared soil..do not disturb the roots when removing the Saran wrap. Keep ground damp, and with any luck, you will have a new tree. OR, go to Home Depot and buy one...easy and not that expensive :-)

You have to dig out the ball of the tree. It going to be very heavy.
Good luck

there are two ways, but the most effective (from personal experience) is to cut a half gallon milk jug in half, discard the top half then put water in the bottom half and just let it sit there till it roots. you have to make sure to check the water level, though and make sure that it stays pretty consistent.
"Goldwing" is right. Good luck.
