I live within Florida and want to know if I can grow pomegranate from the seed?
Answers: I planted some pomegranate seeds this slop (SW Florida), and they germinated resembling hair on a dog. It took 3 or 4 weeks for them to germinate, but we be having a cool spell afterwards, and I think they would hold germinated faster if it have been radiator. I did not treat the seeds surrounded by any way, purely spit the seeds out after ingestion the fruit, and planted them in potting soil. I enjoy transplanted a few into larger pots to plant out in the spring.

Yes, that fragment of the country is conducive to the growing of pomegranate trees. The seeds are sheathed contained by a tough membrane that you will have to remove. As near any hard grip seed, you will enjoy to nick the kernel with a sharp blade or razor to hurry up the germination of the seed. Commercial core companies use a solution of sulfuric acid to etch the outer hull of easier said than done seeds. I don't recommend that procedure for you. If started indoors and protected from the weather, after it should be good to run in springtime. Use a apposite potting soil and give plenty of sunlight. The pip should germinate in 10-14 days. I don't bring to mind any pomegranates being hybrid, so pip selection should not be a concern.
