How do I kill Bamboo in my yard without digging up my whole yard?

Bamboo is extremely hard to kill. However, I have had luck using a strong mixture of RoundUp or other glyphosate mixed with crop oil so it will cling to the plant well.
Read the label on the RoundUp carefully. It is a very strong, very dangerous herbicide. If you have pets and children in the area, you need to make sure they cannot enter the area. Over spray will kill anything in it touches.
Some states restrict the use of some of these herbicides, but most hardware or home improvement centers will carry approved ones in your area.

well, my backyard has the same problem. we usually cut our bamboo to the ground, but it grows back very quickly. im going to keep you on my watch list so i can get the answer too!
Try spraying it with weed killer. If that dosen't work call a professional.
Herbicide called Round Up. It kills whatever it lands on...I don't know if Bamboo can grow back after such devastation - but you'll find out!!
If it is truly bamboo, I would say deal with it and landscape using it. It is a beautiful plant. HOwver, if you talking about Japanese Knotweed which is often confused for bamboo, you are screwed, you have it for life. The roots are deep, Deeper than the four feet I dug to get rid of lawn waste last year. Round Up will kill the grass by going through the root and killing the grass roots but leaving the bamboo or knowtweed alone. You could just reseed your yard and just mow like regular if it is not bamboo and just knotweed
