What are the best ways to keep ducks out of my pool and from crapping on my deck?

Answers:
I've heard that fake owls will help the problem you are having. Pool stores usually have plastic owls you can attach to the pool or deck.

Roast duck dinner parties
Put rubber snakes around your deck!
lemonade. get a gallon of lemonade and spray ur lawn and deck with it. i swear it works cause i used to have problems with ducks.
shotgun
I've used a slingshot and quarter inch pellets to scare them away. I always aim to the left or right to give them a scare. Sometimes they get hit, but no damage is done. Amazingly, they remember that my yard means trouble and after a few days of being pelleted and they go to my neighbor's yard.
Sprinkle cayenne pepper around the areas you prefer the ducks not to go. They'll stop walking there after a couple days. Won't stop them flying and landing in the pool though, sorry!
remember that this is not just our earth we share it, actually we hog it! maybe your pool is in their living room! remember that and buy a good sprayer for your hose : )
Buy some inflatable alligators and some rope and let them float on the water top, works great at our cabin on the lake
Get a beebee gun.
unsweetened lemon Kool Aid or a similar product
shoot em
Mental telepathy. Serious! I had a big problem with cats in my vegetable garden, and had read an article somewhere on mental boundaries. I went out to the garden 3-4 times a day for a week and said in my mind that the garden fence would not allow cats to enter. That there was an invisible fence that continued up around the garden and cats would not enter. I continued to do this about once a week thereafter and have had no more cat problems. But you must really believe in your mind that it will work. Put up a mind fence for the ducks. This is not a joke.
Baby diapers !!
I had this problem just 2 weeks ago. 1 had 17 baby goslings and a mallard mother duck in my in-ground pool. To keep them out, you need to have a float in your pool at all times -that constantly moves around. I have a blowup dolphin (there is what seems to be sand in the bottom to keep it on top of the water) the dolphin swims around the whole pool and keeps all birds,ducks,chipmunks,squirrel... out. --i hope this helps. ---Liz
get a gun and coook them and have a party
I'll swap you for your ducks and you can have these damned Canadian Geese we have up here.
But try something that might work. Look for some large plastic Owls and put acouple of those on your deck railings. They usually deter birds and squirrles from coming around and it might work for ducks too.
P.S. I wasn't kidding about the Geese. You think ducks are bad... these leave Hockey Puck size crapp.
shotgun
Shoot them and have roast duck ~! or get some kind of horn and scare the hell out them. birds are creatures of habit and they seem to keep coming back so change their habit ! I wish I had a Good recipe for duck.
