i wouldn't trust anything that is outside and you are going to be eating if you aren't 100% sure on what it is. many berry bushes are poisonous, and could kill you with one berry. remember, an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure. ask someone who has blueberries or take a sample of the bush to a local garden shop. I'm sure that they could help you.
Take one and bite into it. Most poisonous plants are bitter or strong tasting. If it is, spit it out and you'll know it's not a blueberry.
EAT ONE IF YOU GET VIOLENTLY ILL, THEIR POISONOUS
Take alittle bit of the bush to a greenhouse, they can tell you if it is a blueberry bush.
Local college that has horticulture department or agriculture dept.
when i was young ifound blueberry (vines)not bushes at my granfathers home.these were a wild blueberry and very tasty i might add.see below for more info.
I would take a branch off of the plant and go to a near by plant nursery and ask them if they can identify it. If the birds are not eating these berries---they may not be blueberries. the only way I ever got a berry in NC was to cover the clusters with zip lock bags until they were ripe.
