rabbit
rabbit
Squirrels eat my tomatoes.
Could be Opossum. Maybe it's your neighbor?
could even be Squirrels or Rats
A huge rat.
Armadillo, like arthur
Usually Rats eat the lot .
Traps work; but be certain to wire it to something unmoveable. And bait it with a small piece of nutmeat, slathered with peanut butter.
It's a donkey!
How do you know it's not squirrels? They occasionally take a bite out of mine. I get more damage from birds, but I think the value they provide by eating insects outweighs the occasional pecked tomato. I get far more damage from deer. They love to eat the leaves and stalks.
I've heard that woodchucks can be a problem. You'll need a fence that is buried a few inches to keep them out.
Beaver..gotta watch out for the Beaver's man..especially the hairy ones.
I would suggest that it may be rats. We have citrus and they go for the oranges and the grapefruits. Not so much the lemons. If you see a rat that does not have scurvy, there's your culprit.
I doubt it is a rodent, probably a GRUB worm, they are really hard to spot, same color as the stalk, but believe me they will completely eat the leaves and the tomatoes. Hunt really hard for it and they just pick it off and distroy. Thank goodness for hubby, cause it was really ugly
I'll tell ya what eats my tomatoes and you hardly ever see them they don't hang out in the yard except at night and that is Rabbits Those little creeps are always eating my veggies.. Only way to keep them out is with chicken wire fencing... nothing else stops the buggers...
Get a trap and you'll find out. Could be possums. By sister has them. They can't trap them fast enough.
Sounds like a tomato horn worm/borer. Get some sevin dust and dust your plants but make sure you wash the tomatoes really good when you harvest them.
