my money tree plant is sick?

my money tree plant has gotten a small insect infestation and it has rotted the trunk how can i fix it? is there any hope left?

For the other fella up there:the money tree or Pachira aquatica is one of the so called lucky plants.
I could not find any good suggestion but I Think you should be careful at the watering and the soil; check it it's an insect or too much humidity. If it's the soil there is little you can except stop watering but if it's an insect bring some samples of the trunk and larvas to a nursery and they will suggest the best treatment for your situation. I'm sorry to hear that. I dont think there is any hope...mine got infested also...and now its dead...It's not producing anymore........now I'm broke.....Good Luck...maybe you'll find a cure for it.
Had that same problem.. there is no hope, seems like u just gotta get off ur *** and find a job like I had to do.
This is definitely one plant I can't grow so really can't help you much. However, if there is any hope for your plant, you have to get rid of the insects. I'm sure there are gardening pages on the Web to help you. Good luck.
