when to apply fertilizer on your lawn?

Answers:
Some fertilizers have temperature guidelines, especially weed and feed ones, so be careful. But if you can only afford to fertilize once a year, make it spring. Otherwise, you can apply different fertilizers for different needs throughout the year.

Other answers:
late fall, or early spring
late fall, or early spring
It depends on the lawn. Fescue- fertilize with a high Nitrogen fertilizer in the spring, and then lay off in the summer when it's hot. Come fall, hit it with a starter fertilizer if you plan to re-seed. If not re-seeding, hit it with a winterizer fertilizer. If bermuda, or zoysia- Don't fertilizer during winter months, or when it's brown. Wait until it greens up in the spring- generally about 50% green, and then fertilize it all summer long, until it goes brown again sometime late fall. Centipede- Hit it with special cent. fertilizer 15-0-15 during the summer months.
