How do you grow a new Kousa Dogwood tree?

I have a 35 year old Kousa and I would like to grow more from it's seeds. Where do I start?

Answers:
Many tree seeds must pass through the digestive tracts of birds before they will germinate. To simulate this process, soak your seeds (the ripe berries) in 3 parts white vinegar and 1 part water for 4 days. After 4 days, remove the seed from the vinegar mixture and brush it with a toothbrush or nailbrush. Then plant and keep watered until the tree sprouts. Feed with Miracle Grow until the tree is 1 1/2 feet tall and transplant to ideal location.

Good luck!

well, of course you must germinate the seed to gain the start of a root system. Start the new system out in a flower pot in a rich soil for the first year to develop a good tap root and a network of "sucker" roots. Water only in the morning and make sure it gets partial sun. you should be safe to put it in the ground after the first year. Good luck!
