Acer has scorched leaves, otherwise healthy. Do I prune or wait until spring.?

Garden watered by neighbour, obviously watered plant whilst sun on it. Acer otherwise healthy with new leaves, what do I do about damaged leaves - which are most of the leaves on the tree. Only had tree about 6 months and usually water it round the base only.

Answers:
The leaves tend to scorch no matter when you water it, or how much shade it has! I've never pruned mine, except for shaping it. Lovely trees though!! Mines about 7 foot high now, and only 5 years old!!

Other answers:
Nothing. They will drop off this autumn if not sooner. If there are new leaves appearing, it is obviously OK

Leave it alone. If the burnt portions didn't fall off naturally do to cell division, then the approaching fall season will surely take care of the entire canopy for you.
;)
Leave it for now as it will be losing its leaves in the autumn anyway,It will be okay next spring and you can water it correctly so that it does not happen again.
not a lot you can do

remove the damaged leaves / or leave them on until the autumn

the choice is yours

removing leave may harm the plant I would leave alone
