What is the best way to care for geraniums?

when the flower is spent, should it be cut off or should it be left alone, and if left, will the plant grow stems from the spent bloom?

Answers:
Geraniums are very hardy flowers. Trim off spend blooms, the plant should last the season.....

Other answers:
Definitely snip off the dead flower at the stem. Anywhere is fine. This will encourage the growth of new stems with new flowers. Water regularly, fertilize with a little 6-6-6 or 6-12-6 type fertilizer every 4 weeks or so.
