How can I stop Japanese Beatles from eating my plants?

I have beatle traps and I've sprayed poison on the plants but nothing seems to stop them.

Answers:
I am having the same problem. for three weeks now I have taken up arms against the mighty Jap Beatles...darn them...Sevin works for me...You must reapply it to buds and new growth. I have to apply it also when it rains. I can count their carcases by the hundreds and probably thousands ...I have a huge yard.

They nearly destroyed my blackberry plant on Monday i had not checked it it was riddled!

Go with Sevin i stopped using the bag traps...good luck.

The only Beatles I know of were from Liverpool and not Japan. George and John are dead. Paul and Ringo probably aren't interested in eating your plants.
My answer is a little on the HHHMMM side, but It works for me, I use a regular sandwhich bag, pull off beatles and crush them . Place around the base of your plant(best on roses). Use a good grade diazinon pest control & I wear a mask, (strong pesticide). Another more userfreindly is seven dust, but you have to be carefull , check every day for beatles, and reaply after rain, a little hassle but worth beautiful roses. And the best advice I could ever give,THROW away the beatle traps(they attract beatles) !
Although picking and crushing the leaf-eating little fuggers is satisfying, it takes FOREVER to get them all. A pesticide would probably work, but I prefer using only an organic approach in my garden. Try this all-purpose organic bug spray I use on my potato plants to kill pesky potato beetles. In a blender combine garlic, onion, cayenne pepper, water, and a little bit of liquid dish soap. blend until liquidy. Pour into a spray bottle and go to town on your plants. The bugs will be dead in no time! I found a website with the exact recipe on it.
I've posted this answer twenty times in the past few weeks. Doesn't anyone do a search or whatever.
