Do humming birds sting like a bee?
Answers:
You two have argued for YEARS about this? LOL! You both need to find something else to do! ;) Of course hummingbirds don't sting like bees, because they don't have stingers, and they certainly don't have venom!
They have beaks that just happen to be long, narrow and pointy, but the beaks are not made to pierce the flesh of an enemy and inject venom to kill the enemy.
That being said, I have read about hummingbirds impaling each other during fights, and both birds dying because they can't get themselves unstuck. However, this is because the birds are competing to see who is dominant, so they use their beaks like fencing foils (or sabres, as the case may be) -- NOT because the birds are using their beaks like stingers.

No.
They don't.
Where did he get that idea?
Well you are right. They do not sting at all. You can take him to the library and look at some books. I think he would enjoy that.
No birds have stingers. Hummingbirds are no exceptions. I can't think of anyone fast enough to catch a hummingbird to get stung by one if they did have stingers.
No, hummingbirds have no stingers, their beak is just very thin, to get into the flowers. Their wings move so fast that it sounds like they're buzzing like a bee. Sometimes they come and check you out if you have bright colors on, thinking your a flower, but never aggressive towards people.
No, they rarely come near humans.
