I just want to grow some grass surrounded by my little garden (in the UK) and not have to cut it as I don't enjoy a lawn mower and don't want to buy one, as I don't own the space to store it and it's costly.

No, all grass requests to be cut. Why not try a chamomile lawn. If you buy" Treneage" it does not flower, and should not entail cutting. It also smells nice. If you individual have a small nouns of grass you could also cut it with shears. Good luck
