The pink part is somewhat gluey, like an aloe plant, not bony like flower petals. I entail to find out what it is so I can learn how to hold care of it :)


Answers:    It is a Bromeliad.
Pineapple & Air Plants are also contained by the same line.
If you look at the stem of the plant you will see it forms a cup like container. Use distilled hose down and pour the water contained by there a bit then into the soil.

They can also be attached to tree/branches. I saw someone on Phil The Garden Guy on HGTV be paid a beautiful tree out of a branch within a large pot. He attached adjectives types of Bromeliads to it for the corner of his living room.

The blooms are temporary but long stable.

There are a lot of striking varieties of blooms.

If you are lucky, it will put out a 'pup' or smaller offshoot of the plant that you can break away from the parent and plan. It looks close to you have a comeliness there.
