Will the roses survive the trip?

My brother in tenet has plenty of house in Jamaica. He's requesting some pip. I must mail everything to him contained by a barrel. I'm concerned just about rose plants. Will they survive the trip to Jamaica?

Answers:    If you mail them out root and well wrapped contained by damp daily they should be alright for a few days, they won't have any accident of growing though, they need a cold spell contained by winter without leaves or they only just give up flowering. I wouldn't bother. They're not suitable for a tropical climate
if they are rooted and the root back is in a plastic sack containing soil, they should survive the trip. I would water them purely before they step into the barrel, wrap them within several layers of weekly (to help save them from being crushed) and after place all of that within a large plastic sack. place this n the barrel later and then surround them next to even more newspaper to preserve everything stable.

do not over-water or they stand a chance of fungus growing - a moment ago moist should be fine though.

hope this helps! :)

edited to append...no rose seed. sorry.

one other article. he needs to get certain that it is ok to introduction seed and live plants. i live surrounded by belize, central america and it is unsanctioned - unless you have agricultural permit!

Edited again to say that roses do not require cold weatehr to bloom. They do tremendously in my garden and the temps never crash down below 60 degrees.
It is possible, but most countries hold rules and regulations regarding the introduction or export of plants, fruits, and animals from other countries. You should probably check and make sure it is official before you distribute anything like that to Jamaica.
