Help! My small potted conifers are turning brown within the middle?

Two of my potted conifers have turned brown from the middle - the tips of respectively branch are still lovely and green but if I part the branches, the inside of the tree looks almost unresponsive. Should I cut the green away and let the sun gain to the brown bits - it would spoil the shape of the tree. They are in a massive pot and have be ok for about 2 years. We own had big rains just this minute and quite honestly, they almost looked better when we have the drought last year. The other two trees surrounded by a different position are absolutely fine. Advice please.

Answers:    DON'T cut the green totally away because most conifers do not sprout from the brown intricate wood, unlike other trees and shrubs.Without knowing which conifer it is, I can only distribute you some general direction.
Unfortunately the brown middle parts will stay brown. Most conifers do tend to do this anyway as they get elder. It is the plant responding to lack of frothy ,water and nutrients. The best road to keep them bushy and green is to save them trimmed when they are young, solely cutting into the greener fresh growth.
If they contained by an exposed position they may have suffered from fluctuations surrounded by temperatures as weave can dry them out as well as sun.Always marine them well during drought times also giving them a spray overhead as they can transpire quicker from the surface than the tree can pilfer up from the soil.Conifers do not show distress straight away, so keep a regular check on the soil.
Other possibilities may be red spider mite, aphids or fungal but this doesn't nouns like your problem.
repot and nurture them
