Help! My small potted conifers are turning brown within the middle?
Answers: DON'T cut the green totally away because most conifers do not sprout from the brown intricate wood, unlike other trees and shrubs.Without knowing which conifer it is, I can only distribute you some general direction.
Unfortunately the brown middle parts will stay brown.Most conifers do tend to do this anyway as they get elder.It is the plant responding to lack of frothy ,water and nutrients.The best road to keep them bushy and green is to save them trimmed when they are young, solely cutting into the greener fresh growth.
If they contained by an exposed position they may have suffered from fluctuations surrounded by temperatures as weave can dry them out as well as sun.Always marine them well during drought times also giving them a spray overhead as they can transpire quicker from the surface than the tree can pilfer up from the soil.Conifers do not show distress straight away, so keep a regular check on the soil.
Other possibilities may be red spider mite,aphids or fungal but this doesn't nouns like your problem.
