Do I requirement to re-pot a store bought tulip plant?

I got a tulip plant from a local grocery store, it comes within soil and no real solid pot, I reflect on its only that green plastic that holds everything together (its covered by fancy wrappings to gross it look nicer) do I need to re-pot it for it to survive?
Also, is it possible for tulips to be house plants or should they travel into the ground?
Thanks!

Answers:    Bad news.Tulips are different to daffodils. They flower conceivably 2 times and then nought. If yours is in a pot afterwards its been forced(artificially induced to flower)and is not suitable even for the second year.Buy 10 bulbs contained by sept/oct bury in pot to twice the depth and maintain wet and they will flower contained by march/april then pop within garden for the second year
Just stick them in the garden when it warm up-they'll come up next year.

You can do that near Easter Lilies too...but the next year they won't be Easter Lilies...because they be "forced", like your tulips be to bloom off season--when planted-will bloom within their normal, seasonal bloom time..For tulips-that's rash Spring-as you know..for Easter Lilies--they'll probably be become August Lilies...
no it will do you no good to repot the tulips that you buy pre potted are ment to live and die surrounded by that pot if you are real lucky and the garden god are feeling upright you might get some green leaves but not much hope of any blooms by trans planting out side sorry
