gladiola care-nice flower heads but turn brown and don't open -over/under water, fungus?

Answers:
It sounds like your glads are coming up "blind". This is what happens to flowers if your soil is lacking the proper nutrients. If this happens more than one growing season, have your soil tested by your local Co-Op or buy a soil testing kit. Try giving them a little natural or chemical fertilizer now, and see if that helps for next year's growing season.
