My considerable palm leaf maple lost it's leaves already?
Answers: Hi,
I'm within northern Oregon.
It may be dying, but I wouldn't count it out yet. We own had unbelievably unusual weather this year and it may just not be dealing next to it well.
I would look for other indications that it is have problem, such as leaf trash due to insects, fungus growing out of parts of the trunk, branches that are clearly dead, etc.
Has anything happen that would cause the tree some sort of stress, such as the application of pesticides immediate? Has anything been excavated near? Try to make these sorts of observations and compare how it does subsequent year.
If you decide to try to put aside it, recording observations in the region of the tree could help an arborist diagnose and treat what ails it. If you do distinguish some serious problems such as multiple bore holes around the trunk, you may want to call the arborist sooner fairly than later.
I would hold a certified Arborist acess the tree
Well, it sure could be. Outside thought is the leaves were worn out in some opening, say a freak tardy season frost that caused the abscission veil (the corky cells that motive the leaves to fall) to develop early.
As said above, contact a certified arborist who will examine the tree to see how okay the tree has be growing these last few years. He'll also do a through inspection looking for feasible death cause.
