Why do big grassland companies use gooey fertilizer and herbicides, such as pre-emergent?
why and how so?
Thanks for your answers!
Answers: The lawn companies use gooey fertilizer because it is quick, economical for them, and produces results efficient, so they can get your currency and move onto the next house, post swiftness. And, wow, your lawn is looking rather shabby or parched, you'll telephone them back for another treatment because it looked so august last time....right?
Yes, soft fertilizer is a detrement in the long run. It is a foliar nurture -- which is OK, but as far as getting into the soil, it stays rather superficial which effect the roots to grow/stay superficially. Granular allows nutrients to penetrate the soil better -- albeit for a moment slower -- hence, the roots grow down and result in a better root structure. Grass can also become dependent on artificial nutrients.
So, I don`t know in the high-speed run, it looks like they work better, but contained by the long run, no.
Try and live with the dandelions, clover, and other things that grow within your yard to some extent than use a herbicide. They have be banned surrounded by my county because our fish streams and water-shed water have become contaminated with these chemicals, and the algae and sea flora that thrive on it are choking the lakes, and effectively massacre the wildlife that relies on it.
Mulch your lawn, apply crude fertilizer (a manure tea works great), pick the dandelions, and run Green for your green.
Get off the grass!
