I received a few orchids as office warming gift and the leaves look like they are dehydrating. What can I do?
Answers:
Get a large bowl of water and place the whole pot into it for 3 sec. Then take it out and let it dry. It supposed to simulate a heavy quick downfall of the rainforrest.
Other answers:
water them

Call up the ***** who gave you the orchids and tell her to fix the problem.
well, give them water. water solves dehydration.
water them
Try misting the leaves w/ a water spray bottle. Plants also absorb water through leaves.
If they are potted get some plant food spikes and stuff them into the dirt. Then water them.
You should do a search on Y!Answers for "orchids". There's a lot of info -- mine included.
Water when the "soil" is dry. Don't let them sit in water; they don't like to be wet. Bright indirect light is usually safe.
Read more in a search.
First, orchids grow on trees and should not be planted in dirt.
A mister can be used to water them.
They like indirect sunlight, like a forest.
Have fun!
First, if you know, let us know what kind of orchid it is. Second, stand the plant in water(have the top of the pot just below the surface of the water) for 20 minutes. During this time, snip off any yellow or dead leaves at the base of the plant and any dead flowers. If you really want your orchid to thrive, get SuperThrive and some Liquid Seaweed to feed your plant. Soak your orchid once a week with a capfull of each in the water. My orchids are mucho happy because of this stuff. ;) During the week, spray your plant in the morning. If you can, use distilled water. Makes for a happier plant. If you can find an orchid dealer or club in your neighborhood, they can help you with your new jewel. Orchids are really quite a lovely thing to keep. Good luck!
