why are you doubting it, first place? Do you have any notion that the place could be somehow toxically loaded due to previous use of the manor whatever it be or from heavy traffic adjoining? if yes then you should own the soil or the fruit tested. (pesticides, heavy metals, petroleum products, level of nitrates etc.- It depends on the chemicals used by the previous owner - they could use plenty of pesticides, or run a workshop from which stuffs could have leak into the soil.) if this is not the case - next what makes you ask? Like fruit other grows from dirt, even the fruit sold in shops..
