My new mulberry{fruiting} tree was just planted a week ago, it not doing so good, why?

Ok, I bought a mulberry tree a week ago, planted it in my front yard, the hole it was put in was approx. 1 ft deep and a foot wide, I put the tree in the hole, put some plant food in the bottom, filled in the hole with dirt,{I did not leave the top of the origanal soil of the tree showing, it's buried} watered it.
Now the buds haven't grown at all and the tree itself is not looking so hot, droopy etc,{no disease that i can see, done some online research to no avail} also I live in Ottawa Canada{yes they do grow here} ANY suggestions?

Answers:
egads...it's probably just in shock.
Bear with it, love it and baby it a little, and it'll come 'round.
