I want to grow my plants in my garden, not the gobs of old clover and other plants prior owners had. Other than "roundup" (not option cuz its poison), what can i do? Salt, plastic sheet, what??

dig up all of the old plants ,and make sure to get the bulbs of the plants as well!other wise they'll come back!then till up,or dig up the dirt really well!and plant your new plants!some might return, that's if seeds or bulbs from the old plant are unknowingly left behing but when you see them youll know where to dig them up!
