Hundreds of worm-like insects on my porch, what are they?

i went outside to smoke a cigarette, and i noticed all of these insects. They are tan, look like worms, they were on the concrete. And there were hundreds of them. They are tiny, probably about a 1/4 of an inch (if that). Some of them were inevitably killed because i stepped on them without noticing, but when they are squished they look like very small leaves. Does anyone know what they are?

sounds like the baby millipedes that i had once. there were hoards of them and they keep coming for a couple of weeks. i ended up using an ant spray to kill them off.... okay a lot of ant spray
More than likely they are some type of moth larva.Id just get a can of hotshot and work em over myself.
Those sound like maggots. Those are the things that turn into fruit flys. Possibly, someone spilled some liquid onto the stairs. They feed off of sweet liquids. They'll be gone, but don't be surprised when you have a hundred of flies swarming around.

Also, they could be grubs... is that area of the porch dark? I usually see hundreds of them, when I lift a rock up. It's soooo gross, but at least there's stuff to kill them if it bothers you. They'll mess with the health of your grass if you don't get at them.
