When is the best time to cut back a rose bush, fall or spring?

Answers:
It varies with climate but mid February is considered the soonest in the year that they should be cut back. The general idea is to cut them back just before the last killing frost. Where we live that is usually mid March for mid February is a good time for us.

Other answers:
fall, so it will be ready to bloom in spring.
fall, so it will be ready to bloom in spring.
In January, if you're in the northern hemisphere.
In the spring.
The reason is because of winter kill. If you cut them back in the fall there will be nothing to kill off over the winter and the plant will die come spring.
