when is the best time to trim trees?
Answers:
fall and winter when all the sap is down in the roots,, when some people say early spring they mean when the weather is nice enough to work outside but the sap is still down in the ground,, do not trim if the buds are coming out,,, this means the sap is moving up,,you could cause disease and damage!

As a general rule, the best time to prune tree is early spring. There are exceptions. I have a paper bark birch and the best time to prune it is in August. Do a little research before you begin. ORTHO has some good books on pruning trees and shrubs. If you can't afford a book, contact a local nursery that is reputable and ask them.

Either early spring before they bloom or in late fall.
