Besides Grub killer, is there another way to kill grubs in your lawn and prevent predators from digging lawn?
Answers:
Milky Spore. One treatment will last 20 years or more
It is is a bacterium that gets ingested by the grubs, they die, producing more. When there are no more grubs, it goes dormant, but will spring into action when a hapless Japanese Beetle lays its eggs in the ground.
The other methods are toxic and will need to be done every year.

There is a basic pest and insect killer by Bayer - kills everything from crickets to ants to grubs- sprinkle like fertilizer and water- or do it before a light rain. has worked in my yard- also for the digging- sounds like you have moles too. Sonic vibration inserts for the ground will completely cure the moles and other burrowing animals looking for those grubs. good luck!

gee, where do you live? the only animal i know that eats grubs are bears, but i live in the mountains. also, are they grubs or slugs. i know for snails and slugs you can leave a bowl of beer at ground level out in the yard and, they like beer, so they fall in and drown. i use this method because i have alot of animals around and don't like to use bait. good luck.
if you go to your local garden center ...ask for a product called"MILKY SPORE"....it is an organic way to control grubs...FYI...a grub is the lava to the Japanese beetle and one of the main staples of the moles diet......sad but true..if you gett rid of all the moles the grubs will thrivebut if you use milky spore it kills the grubs and the moles dont like the smell or taste
You can treat your yard with a Bayer product, GrubX. It is a granular product that spreads on the lawn much like you would spread fertilizer. A product that has Bifenthrin, sometimes called Talstar as an active ingredient in it will also work well. Another possibility is to add nematodes to your yard. The nematodes can be found at most of your Mom and Pop garden centers, and feed on Grubs. Another product many people have had success with (myself included) is Milky Spore. To treat the lawn, just put a spoon full at 3 foot by 3 foot. Milky Spore lasts for many years. Understand, it will only kill the grub in its larva stage and will not harm the existing grubs. These are much more organic approaches, but as is normally the case with organic solutions, results will be slower.
