can you grow a rosebush in a pot?

I have a climbing rose and I would like to be able to put it in a pot and grow it on a trellis that way if we move I can take it with me no matter what time of year without killing it.

Answers:
It depends on the variety, I would not recommend potting a floribunda. Select a container that is large enough to allow healthy root growth, such as a 5 gal square planter that you can purchase from any gardening store , including WalMart. Make sure that there are holes in the bottom to allow for drainage. Line the bottom with broken clay pots or landscaping rock (at least 1.5") before adding a ptting soil mixed with manure. Good Luck!!

Other answers:
Yeah just use a big enough pot and good potting soil.

Yes you can use a Pot..make sure it's the right type of Pot and use the correct fertilizer... go to home depot or lowes and they will give you the correct answers... Good luck!
not for ever. when it gets to be as big as a 4 year old you need to replant it in the ground

Dawn
sure u can. get a lrg - xlrg pot put the trellis in put the rose bush in fill with soil & then water it.
I'm sure you can do that. I don't think it will flourish as well, because the roots won't have the room to expand out, like it would planted in the ground. It kind of restricts the growth of anything like that. I guess its worth a try. good luck.
yes u can put in in a big one
