Does anyone know how to seal a tree stump? Want to keep it from regrowing without removing completely.?

Answers:
Drill a big hole in it and pour in full strength Roundup. Seal the hole with a rock and the roots will absorb the poison and kill the stump.

Other answers:
Then you need to kill the roots.

Best way to do this is to get the biggest bore drill bit you can find and drill holes into the top of the stump. Go to a garden supply store and buy Triox liquid vegitation killer. It's a concentrate sold in the chemicals section.

Pour it into the holes undiluted till they are all full. The stump will absorb the chemicals and will die.

Hey - good advice you two! I'm going to try that at my house too, we've got a Bradford Pear stump that just won't quit.

Thanks!
two coats of latex paint.
drive a copper nail into the heart of the stump
Get a 6" length of 1/2" diameter copper pipe. Hammer it flat and then hammer it right into the stump. This will work quicker than a copper nail and avoids the use of chemicals.
To ensure you kill it, remove all of the bark from the stump.
