is it possible to locate or make a live rose, a shade of blue?

Answers:
There is no such thing as a blue rose. Please don't believe any of the other answers. They have been trying to hybridize a blue rose for years. Some say they are close in Japan. "Blue Girl" is lavender as are all the other "blue" roses.

Dyed roses are just that. But if that's what you want.....

they can be dyed

You can take a white rose and put it in water with food coloring in it...it'll take about 2 days for it to soak up enough water to change the color of the rose. It'll never be blue blue, but it will turn a pale shade of a color. Good luck!!
Blue Girl roses. They are hybrids and bloom blue very nicely for a few years. Good florists can usually track down cut ones if that is what you are looking for as well.
Normally a rose can not be blue. However, I've heard that they've made a blue rose in Japan with genetical engineering.
