What Size is a standard Allotment and what are rods.?

My allotment is around 12yds by 20yds. Is this full size.
Any one know what Rods are?

Answers:
A rod is a unit of measure commonly used in surveying- 16.5 feet. Although it seems like an awkward unit of measure, if I remember correctly it somehow fits nicely with acres and miles.
