How can I exterminate gophers in my garden?
The nextdoor neighber has had gopher problem for sevral years,
since new people moved into the house across the street about 5 years ago and got a exterminator's service for gophers (the work resulted not successful).
Our house is located in San Rafael, CA, a northern suburb of San Francisco. We're having a record-breaking rainy March and April this year.

With extreme prejudice?
Certainly as Bill Murray taught us all dynamite is always an option.

It reallys depends on the law that permits you to do what specifically. An environmentalist in your area will know the proper way to exterminate them base on the laws and regulations.

Put a hose in the hole.
you don't need to exterminate them, just get a few of those windmill type lawn ornaments that are on metal posts. Stick them in the ground and when the wind blows it sends vibration into the ground and if they pop up to see what's going on the movement scares them.
This should scare them off.
Fox Urine, seriously they sell it and my Dad used it, worked. The scent of a larger animal should scare them.
why do people resort to killing? Those gophers did nothing to you. why should you kill them? they're obviously not poisonous and don't attack people. There are dozens of ways to get them to move out of your lawn by not killing them. Smarten up and let the gophers LIVE!!
I was having trouble with gophers in my yard too! I used a gopher trap to get rid of them. I got the idea from a website, which I found very helpful. You can buy the traps online and it tells you how to get rid of gophers.
