We bought a crepe myrtle last summer and so far this summer we have not had any blooms/flowers on it. Why?

Answers:
Is it still alive? I'm in Georgia and my yard is full of crepe myrtle. I've notice some people's are already blooming. Some in my yard don't even have buds on them yet and some do. None have opened yet tho. Should be soon. So maybe where you are it is going to take a little longer. Might even be late July before it blooms. If it is green I wouldn't worry about it. They are hardy little buggers.

Other answers:
Sun is the only reason I have seen that dramatically effect the way these bloom? Not fertilizer, water or soil. That must be it.

Crepe Myrtles will bloom at the end of August. A few in the bright sun will just now start blooming.
