Tips for plants?
Answers:
I'm sorry but I can kill any indoor plant, my yard is beautiful though. The nice lady at the nursery says I over water them & keep my blinds closed all the time, so they do not get enough sunlight. Not willing to give up privacy for plants, so the 3 plants I own are in kitchen window & they said water when the feel really dry or they start to wilt - they are about 10 months old. My longest living indoor plant.

You must put them where they can get sunlight and be careful not to over water them or under water them. If the soil is damp to the touch, they have enough water. If they are flowers it is a good idea after they bloom to pinch off the buds, so they will flower again. Like outside plants it doesn't hurt to prune them at the begining of your growing season. Good luck.
depends on the kind of plant you have/want
some require more light than others and the same goes with fertilizer, water and pruning.
try to find a book dedicated to house plants.
i have a southern living book on houseplants and several for perennials.
i have found though that for perennials can be a bit off base...i have cone flowers that are getting ready to bloom and according to everything i have read they arent supposed to bloom for another month or so...lol..i live in kentucky
african violets do best in a pot being kept root bound and with morning sun only..window facing the east...
alot of houseplants can be finicky and if their demands are not met exactly they will perish.
i have about 10 different kinds in the house and am starting to figure out on my own how to keep them alive and growing...if i buy one and it dies within a month than i wont buy that kind again.
try amazon.com for books on proper houseplant care....
