I need some tips on growing bougainvillia, fertilizer and how much to water for the south Florida area.:)?

Answers:
Bouganvillas need dry conditions to bloom. You have propably noticed that the ones in your area bloom early spring and fall. This is because the plant must dry out before it blooms. Most folks keep watering it to force bloom, but this only slows it down. So, after the summer rains are gone, do not water it. Stand back and watch it flourish. It only takes a standard fertilizer ( 6/6/6) but if you want to force bloom it use bone meal or a 3/60/30 fertilizer.
However, if you use something like a 3/60/3 fertilizer (bloom buster) all the enery goes into blossoms and very little to leaves and roots. So, after booming the plant could loose some leaves and look "sickly" for awhile. Hope this helps.
