Why Is The Japanese Maple Tree So Expensive?

Why Is The Japanese Maple So Expensive? We had one Japanese Maple Tree but it died.

Answers:
Like any other slow growing specimen, Japanese maples require many years of careful tending to, to get them to a size where they can be sold to the consumer.

You are paying for the labor, water and fertilizer neccesary to properly raise these trees over a long period of time.

The same is true for topiaries. These trees do not just grow that way on their own. Someone had to put alot of time into them to reach the final result.
