how do I get rid of grubs in my lawn?

Answers:
depending on how bad it is, you may need to call in the professionals.

If you have grubs, you will get skunks (it is one of their favourite foods)...you can tell by lifted up patches on your grass.

There is specific items to kill grubs, you need to visit your local nursery, spring is the perfect time...explain you have grubs.

worst case, you may need to remove the grass & reseed.

Treat your lawn, and it should be fine.

Go to Lowe's, Home Depot, Menard's or similar DIY store and buy a bag of Grub-X. If you don't, your lawn will be ruined, especially if your neighbors are applying it. The grubs will all come to YOUR lawn for lunch and lodging.

Lawn grubs attract rabid killer skunks. RUN! DO IT NOW!
Please, please dont do above advice. It is well intentioed, but I deal with this everyday.
Many myths and wives tales with grubs.

First Do not use weed and feed. It is for weeds, not grubs. Second, do NOT use grub X if you have an active grub problem . Grub X is a summer time preventitive to keeps eggs from developing into full size grubs.

1st , make sure you actually ave grubs tearing up yoor roots. If you have loose turf and grubs (a few) under the area of the loose turf than you have grubs. The grubs you see now are last seasons grubs that overwintered. They will eat and pop out of the ground later and lay more eggs.

If the problem is real, Use a product called Dylox and Water it in for 1/2 -1 hr. Dylox kills grubs, doesnt have any residual activity, but will stop the grubs feeding right away. The will stop chewing roots, then slowly die.....

Then you might consider a preventer like GrubX....later in the summer for the next wave of grubs..Always water insecticides in.

Any of the BAYER advanced products are usually decent for the Homeowner.

Hope it saves you wasted dollars and helps.
Be really careful about the chemicals you use - many lawn "foods" contain chemicals related to Agent Orange.

I did two things that successfully got rid of grubs:

1. Put shallow containers of beer in the wet areas of the garden where you see grubs. The grubs will drown in the beer

2. Tolerate skunks - they eat enormous amounts of grubs, they are mellow and give warning before they bomb anyone or anything. The ONLY time in 7 years that a skunk bombed near my house was when a neighbor's cat surprised it.
Wait for the flock of White Ibis to land in your yard...they love to eat grubs! Ya gotta live down here in FL for that to happen, though...
