What kinds of seeds can I plant in Florida in August,including trees,fruits, vegies and flowers?

I'm in Va. I would plant just about anything in FL except something that could drown. Trees, anything good in your area. Palm, willow (not too close to the house or water line!) are great there.
Veggies, here in va it's time to plant cabbage, lettuce, broc, cauliflower, brussels. You could plant the same. But I would drop in a few tomato plants *(not seeds) if you can find them. Flowers, anything. Get some hearty mums, they will come back bigger and nicer next year!! Daylillies too! Put some hostas where it's shady! They are beautiful, can be moved and propagated easily next year!
Whatever they are selling at Lowes and Walmart right now, you can plant. Put in some artihokes too! Pretty and edible!
