my calla lilies are dying, they were planted this year and only bloomed once...any suggestions?

Answers:
the flowering time is over, cut all the flower stems off an let them do their own thing now, they will come back nest year with avengence. don't worry to much about the cold, if it really gets bad, cover the ground with straw to keep from freezing to bad

Other answers:
as far as I know their season is finished...cut them down and in the fall lift the tubers if it gets real cold in your area

Calla lillies go dormant during the summer. They have bulbs underground that are still alive. So long as the ground doesn't freeze, they should come back some time next spring.

Sometimes, you can dig them up, and put them in the fridge for a few weeks, to plant them and trick them into thinking it's spring when it's really fall, but unless you need to dig them up because the ground freezes, there isn't much reason for all that trouble.
